Empowering students to apply innovation to real-world challenges and community needs.
Providing a platform for learners in alternative education programs to express creativity and critical thinking.
Supported through AfriEdutech’s inclusive participation policy. Adaptive materials and learning supports ensure full and meaningful participation for all learners with visual, hearing, or other additional needs.
The competition is thoughtfully divided into two categories, ensuring that learners at every stage are supported, challenged, and inspired to grow. Each level is designed to nurture creativity, build confidence, and provide the right balance of learning and healthy competition.
The Junior Category brings curiosity to life. Young innovators explore everyday challenges around them and use simple, creative ideas to build practical solutions. The focus is on confidence, teamwork, and hands-on learning helping them see that their ideas matter and can make a real difference.

The Senior Category pushes learners to think bigger and deeper. Participants develop innovative, scalable solutions to real-world problems, applying critical thinking and advanced skills. It’s about building purposeful, sustainable projects that show readiness for higher-level innovation and meaningful impact.

At the heart of our competition is genuine support and mentorship. Learners are guided by experienced mentors who walk with them through the process helping them shape their ideas, better understand the problems they’re solving, and build confidence as they grow.
When it comes to judging, we look at the bigger picture. Our judges assess creativity, clarity of problem understanding, teamwork, and the overall growth shown by each team. It’s not just about the final project it’s about the journey, the collaboration, and the skills gained along the way.
The Future Innovation Competition goes far beyond the event itself. It creates pathways for continued learning, exposure, and long-term growth, including:
Inclusion is not an add-on for us it is at the heart of everything we do. We believe every learner, regardless of background, circumstance, or ability, deserves the opportunity to explore, create, and truly shine. At AfriEdutech, we intentionally design our programs to be accessible and welcoming to all.
