Smart Flood Detection System for Communities

Flooding is one of the major environmental challenges affecting many communities around the world. Heavy rainfall and poor drainage systems often lead to property damage, displacement of residents, and even loss of lives. To address this issue, the Smart Flood Detection System was developed as an intelligent and cost-effective solution for monitoring flood levels in real time.

This project uses an Arduino microcontroller combined with sensors to detect water levels and rainfall intensity. The system is capable of identifying dangerous flood conditions early, allowing communities and local authorities to take preventive action before the situation becomes critical.

The project is designed using simple and affordable electronic components, making it suitable for schools, research projects, smart city initiatives, and environmental monitoring systems. The ultrasonic sensor measures the distance between the sensor and the water surface, while the rain sensor detects rainfall levels.
